India Gardens – Update

1. The new substation installation has been completed and old station de-commissioned.
2. The caretaker’s hut has been completed and our caretaker moved in December 2023.
3. Temporary site offices, welfare, roadworks and fencing to the construction site have been completed.
4. All demolition works related to our previous buildings is completed.
5. Ground reduction works is being carried out in preparation to form correct levels.
6. The laying of hardcore to form the piling matt has commenced.
7. Piling works are scheduled to commence week commencing 3rd June 2024.
8. Steel fabrication contractor is scheduled to start onsite works end of July 2024.
9. We are targeting the roof structure to be in place by December 2024.
10. Affinity Water will be connecting our new 90mm water supply within the next two weeks.

The construction works are now proceeding at speed, in order to ensure that we do not need to slow down the progress due to a lack of funds we urge all those of you that have made a pledge to proceed in transferring funds. Please contact us if you require any assistance with this.

This is a once in a lifetime chance for you to be involved in our community project, a significant milestone for this immigrant community who is finally building their own home in the UK. We encourage you to make a donation/pledge to enable the building of this centre to be completed and for the organisation to expand its activities in many areas, some that have not even been imagined till now. Please encourage your friends and family to do the same.

The demolished dining and sports buildings have been replaced by an event marquee, with its own fully operational commercial kitchen and parking facilities. The marquee is 1,000 square meters and will accommodate all of our functions and well as external hires. We have seen an increased amount of interest and books from our affiliate Gaams. We have also had larger Gaams book, where previously our halls were not able to accommodate such large bookings.

Our team holds weekly meetings to review progress, plan ahead and identify cost-saving opportunities.

We kindly request all those who have pledged to release their funds now, so that orders can be placed. We also urge all members who have not pledged to do so.
